But I did. And it taught me everything I needed to know about stress, resilience, and what the body really needs to feel safe.
After retiring from 25 years in a high-pressure police career, I knew I couldn’t keep living in a state of constant survival mode. So I sold everything, packed five suitcases and flew to Costa Rica with two dogs and no clear plan - just a deep need for peace.
What I found wasn’t just tropical beaches and quiet days, it was a crash course in nervous system regulation. It was the first time I truly listened to my body. And it was harder, and more healing, than I expected.
Now I’m back in the UK, helping other women who are
done with burnout, wired but tired, and tired of waking up already exhausted. If you know stress is affecting your sleep, your focus, your body and your joy, you're not alone.
